De soort die ik in mijn tuintje vond is Megalothorax minimus.
dit springstaartje is zeer klein en amper tot niet met het blote oog te zien, ze meet ongeveer 1/4 mm.
Bij het fotograferen van andere zeer kleine springstaartjes kwam ik deze bij toeval op foto tegen, en is zeer moeilijk om afzonderlijk te fotograferen door de geringe grootte en zonder betere apparatuur waarschijnlijk onmogelijk.
